Gregory Dank grew up in Lincoln, NE, and now works as an assistant teaching 3-6 year-olds. He started painting after the recent birth of his son, which was the biggest creative inspiration of his entire life.
He loves working with children and often feels like they are teaching him. His work is inspired by the natural world and the closeness he has felt with it since he was a child himself.
Some of my fondest memories are of visiting the tide pools of La Jolla, San Diego with my grandma; each sandstone pool was like an alien world to me, full of creatures I'd never seen. Each little world contained so much vibrancy and diversity of life. That color and beauty is what inspired me while painting this rain barrel.
