Jennie Schmidt is a native of Sterling, Nebraska. Her interest in the arts started at an early age with the love, encouragement, and support of her parents both through music and drawing. After high school Jennie went on to Bethany College, Lindsborg, KS where she received her Bachelors degree in Psychology and minor in Music. After college she returned to Nebraska and became a resident of Lincoln. Jennie still loves the arts and participating in them. With the encouragement of her mom Jennie and her mom Judi enjoy playing in the Southeast Nebraska Community Band.
After painting and repainting my barrel I settled on featuring the different elements in the legendary Native American "Rain Song." The Rain Song expresses many different spiritual elements of the prairie and how they embrace together into our Mother Earth. As you venture around my barrel you will find hidden pictures depicted in the Rain Song.
