Pre-Construction Open House Planned on Stormwater Improvements

May 17, 2006

The public is invited to an open house Wednesday, May 24 to discuss proposed stormwater drainage improvements in central Lincoln. The informal meeting is set for 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the gym at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ School, 3245 South 37th Street.

Improvements that will be made to the existing storm drainage system which begins at South Street between 37th and 38th streets. The system continues south past Van Dorn Street, west onto Otoe Street and then south through Pawnee, Melrose and High Streets. The project will add capacity to the stormwater system with the installation of new pipes and inlets. Work is expected to begin in early June and take about five months to complete.

At the open house, participants will have the opportunity to provide comments on the proposed improvements and meet with the project design and construction team.
