About the Artist
Arnold Elementary School Studio Art CLC

Led by Mrs. Deborah Ortega and Mrs. Jan Amberg, this club is made up of 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students that meet after school on Thursdays for an hour to form their "Studio Art Club." These kids are engaged in all areas of art and expression. They have been doing this art club for four years and have also participated in the city wide CLC Art Show downtown. These kids show up energetic and enthusiastic every week wanting to learn more about art.

This opportunity of painting a rain barrel would let these students experience what it is like to be a "real" artist applying for an art project and carrying it through all the way to public installation.

Location: Campbell's Nursery & Garden Center, 5625 Pine Lake Rd.

As a group we sat down and collaborated over what our rain barrel would represent for our city. The children flooded us with ideas, finally deciding we would turn our rain barrel into a wishing well. With our hope it will both inspire the saving of our natural resources as well as saving our money.
