About the Artist
Catherine Griesen

Catherine Griesen, a local artist, and her mother, Linda Helton, collaborated on this rain barrel to bring you their favorite sights around town. Catherine received her art degree from Nebraska Wesleyan and is a bookbinder, while Linda's background is in biology and English. Linda is also a Master Gardener.

In this collaboration Catherine has highlighted her favorite buildings and statues in Lincoln, while Linda has focused on the native plants, trees, shrubs, and grasses found in this area.

"A Round Lincoln:
These are a Few of My Favorite Things"

Location: Bennett Martin Public Library, 136 S 14th St.

At the bottom of the barrel is a winding trail featuring a small portion of Lincoln's outdoor sights. Along our trail are gardens, both flower and sculpture. Some features that spoke to us are Torn Notebook, Breech, the Sunken Gardens, the Teacher's Memorial Fountain, Pioneers Park, and a Tour-de-Lincoln bike.

Also included are sights less known: The Watchful Citizen statue in the Haymarket, Disc Golf baskets, and the sculpture at 33rd & O Sts.
