About the Artist
Ann Weideman-Lehman

Ann began painting bird-house gourds as a hobby a few years ago. When she ran out of gourds, she began painting shelves, treasure boxes and furniture. She is a Lincoln native, and is married to Mark Lehman. They have two children, Emma and Jens, both college students. She likes to garden, read, paint and enjoy her family and friends.

Artwork Interpretation
"My Hometown"

Location: Bess Dodson Walt Branch Library, 6701 S 14th St

"My Hometown" is a picture of Ann's Lincoln. Some of the places are new, some old. Some have changed, and some, like outdoor movies, aren't around anymore. Her mother is from the South Bottoms, and her father is from the North Bottoms. "I am from Northeast Lincoln. I spent a lot time in those neighborhoods growing up. It brought back a lot of memories to paint this barrel."
