- Finish High School
This includes activities like paid tutoring to help you to stay in school and graduate.
If you have dropped out and are eligible to return to school, we can also provide assistance to get back into high school.
- Basic Skills Improvement & GED Preparation
We provide the opportunity for you to improve your skills in reading, writing and math, if needed. This is available for high school graduates and dropouts. The TABE assessment will be administered as part of your application process.
Based upon your individual situation, a plan to improve your skills will be identified. For eligible and suitable YESS participants, several basic skills classes are offered on site at the One Stop Career Center.
If you need to complete GED testing, we provide, once our instructor determines you are ready to test, the information and fees required by testing center at Southeast Community College.
- Get a Job
We can assist you in looking for work by providing information on how to look for employment, giving job leads, reviewing applications, and providing interviewing tips.
Additionally, work experience may be an option for you. Work experience is an opportunity that allows you to work in our community and experience a career that interests you. We have both volunteer and paid work experience.
- Go to College
Higher education encompasses college, technical courses, and certificate courses. Just a few examples are an associate’s degree, medical assisting diploma, or CNA. There are many possibilities and several training providers to choose from.
For individuals that are eligible and suitable for enrollment in YESS, we can provide assistance with tuition, supplies and books.
- Support Services
There are reasons people do not achieve their goals. Sometimes those reasons are as simple as not having adequate transportation or required tools and supplies. These are just two examples of our many supportive services.
