All structures or areas with restricted access must have a Key Box (e.g., Knox Box) installed in a location approved by Lincoln Fire & Rescue. While the Bureau of Fire Prevention oversees enforcement, Lincoln Fire & Rescue directly manages the program, including inquiries related to ordering, mounting location, height requirements, acceptable key types, and more.
Please note that obtaining a Key Box (e.g., Knox Box) may take 4 to 6 weeks, so plan accordingly.
