Mechanical Trade Registration
Renew a Mechanical License
The license renewal period is from October 1st to December 31st. If you do not renew by December 31st, you will no longer be licensed to perform certain mechanical work in the City of Lincoln. Failure to renew within 60 days from the expiration of the license will result in the revocation of your license and you will be required to re-take any examinations that are a requirement of the license.
Each trade professional needs to meet the minimum requirements outlined in
Chapter 25 of the Lincoln Municipal Code
.
Annual continuing education requirements include:
A Master Mechanical Contractor is required to have 8 approved CEU hours
A Journeyman is required to have 4 approved CEU hours

Master Contractor- $350
Inactive Master- $50
Journeyman- $25
Apprentice- $15
Deco Fireplace
Fireplace Contractor- $150
Fireplace Installer- $25
Refrigeration- Mechanical
Master Contractor- $250
Apply for New Mechanical License
Each trade professional needs to meet the minimum requirements outlined in

Apprentices can apply for an apprentice license at any time.
New Journeyman, Master Contractors, Deco Installers, and Deco Contractors must pass the required exams prior to applying for their license. See the
