The mission of the Animal Control Division is; To Promote and Protect the Health of People and Pets. There is a strong connection to local public health and Animal Control. This includes infectious disease control (rabies prevention), injury prevention (animal bites), and sanitation. Animal Control is responsible for the enforcement of the Lincoln Municipal Code, Animal Ordinances.
During Office Renovations, Online Licensing is Encouraged
Lincoln Animal Control is asking pet owners to apply for or renew pet licenses online, by phone or by mail during renovations of its office at 3131 “O” St. The office remains open, but pet owners must visit the clinic area on first floor and check in at windows three, four or five, or call 402-441-7900. An Animal Control staff member will provide assistance in the lobby.
Options for applying for or renewing a pet license include:
- Online – Visit lincoln.ne.gov/AnimalControl. Select “Permits & Licensing” and then follow the online instructions. Pet owners can complete and submit all forms and payment through the online application.
- By phone – Call 402-441-7900 and Animal Control will assist you.
- By mail – Print the Animal License Application available at lincoln.ne.gov/AnimalControl. Select “Permits & Licensing.” Enclose the completed application, other required forms and payment in an envelope and mail to:
