Lincoln Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash | Highway 77

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Robert Finley of Lincoln.

The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred on Highway 77 in southwest Lincoln.

On Thursday, July 11, just after 6:15 p.m., officers responded to a crash at the intersection of Highway 77 and W. Pioneers Blvd. The preliminary investigation determined a motorcycle was going north on Highway 77. A car driving south attempted to turn left onto W. Pioneers, when the motorcycle and car collided. A 48-year-old Lincoln man riding the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on the scene. The sole occupant of the vehicle, a male driver, was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

LPD is not releasing the victim’s identity at this time, pending next of kin notification.

Traffic will remain closed in all directions on Highway 77 at the W. Pioneers intersection for several hours until investigators complete processing the scene.
