Lincoln Police Investigate Fatal Shooting | SW Lincoln

UPDATE (May 29 - 9:30 a.m.) | 32-year-old Darious Fletcher of Lincoln has been arrested for two counts of accessory to first-degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm. He was located in the 1400 block of S. 10th and taken into custody without incident Tuesday evening.

UPDATE (May 28 - 6 p.m.) | After reviewing surveillance video and interviewing witnesses, LPD investigators determined 32-year-old Christopher Z. Johnson of Lincoln is the person responsible for the fatal shootings of Carlos Silva and Terrell Jones on Saturday, May 25, 2024. Investigators tracked Johnson to Omaha where he was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a foot pursuit. He was taken to the Douglas County Jail on two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of use of a firearm to commit a felony.

LPD would like to thank our partners with the Omaha Police Department, Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol and the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force for their assistance in apprehending Johnson. He will be extradited back to Lancaster County at a later date.

UPDATE (May 28 - 9 a.m.) | The two Lincoln men who died in Saturday's fatal shooting have been identified as Carlos L. Silva, 39, and Terrell L. Jones, 40.

The Lincoln Police Department (LPD) is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at The Office, 640 W. Prospector Court, in southwest Lincoln.

Just before 2:00 a.m., LPD and Lincoln Fire & Rescue were sent to the establishment on a report of a shooting with two male victims. Both men sustained multiple gunshots and were taken to the hospital where they died from their injuries. The victims, ages 39 and 40, are both of Lincoln.

The preliminary investigation determined the shooting occurred after a verbal altercation outside the club. LPD believes this is an isolated incident without an ongoing public safety concern.
