Lincoln City Libraries CSI Program Set For November 3

Published on October 28, 2024

Lincoln City Libraries invites teens and young adults to a special presentation from the Lincoln Police Department (LPD) Sunday, November 3. The free "Crime Scene Investigation" (CSI) event will be from 2 to 3 p.m. at Eiseley Branch Library, 1530 Superior Street.

Participants will learn about the crime scene investigation profession and the process behind evidence collection and analysis. The program will provide information on how the police department’s CSI Unit is structured, the qualifications required for the job, and the wide range of CSI job opportunities available in Nebraska and beyond.

"This program is a great way for teens to get an inside look at a fascinating career path, whether they’re interested in forensic science or simply curious about how CSI works," said Erin Sims, Forensic Lab Manager for LPD. "It’s a chance for them to hear directly from professionals who work in the field every day."

For teens considering a career in crime scene investigation, LPD will offer practical advice on how to get started, including focusing on science and technology skills, and exploring various CSI roles, which can range from civilian positions to commissioned officers.
