Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today announced that South Street between 55th and 56th streets will close beginning Monday, November 18, for Lincoln Electric System pole replacements. This work is scheduled to be completed by Thursday, November 21.
Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained. The recommended detour is 48th Street to Normal Boulevard to 56th Street.
StarTran Route 40-Heart Hospital will be detoured during this work. For more information on StarTran routes and detours, visit lincoln.ne.gov/transit or call 402-476-1234.
Digital signs will alert traffic to upcoming work and closures. Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and exercise caution around this closure. LTU appreciates the public’s patience during this closure and reminds residents that project dates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
