The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a heat advisory for Lincoln and Lancaster County effective Monday, June 24 at 1 p.m. through Tuesday, June 25 at 7 a.m. According to the NWS, heat index values ranging from 100-110 F are expected. The NWS HeatRisk for Lincoln will be in Major or red, which means this level of heat affects anyone without cooling or adequate hydration.

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) urges residents to take precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses and closely monitor weather conditions and heat risk as temperatures rise.
