Portions of Two Streets to Close July 17, 18
Published on July 16, 2024
Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today announced two street closures beginning July 17 and 18. The closures are as follows:
Leighton Avenue from Cotner Boulevard to 70th
Street
will be closed beginning Wednesday, July 17 as part of a Lincoln on the Move street improvement project. The recommended detour is Holdrege or Adams streets to 56th or 70th streets. This work is scheduled to be completed by mid-August.
Northbound Sun Valley Boulevard from Charleston Street to south of North 10th Street
will be closed beginning Thursday, July 18 for pavement repair. The recommended detour is “O” Street to 10th Street. This work is scheduled to be completed by August 2.
Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and exercise caution around this closure. LTU appreciates the public’s patience during this closure and reminds residents that project dates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
Lincoln on the Move is a six-year street investment effort focused on enhancing Lincoln’s street infrastructure that will dedicate an additional $96 million to street projects in Lincoln through 2025.
