City Announces Free and Reduced Cost Bicycle Pass Program

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities today announced a program to provide free and reduced cost bicycle access to transportation-disadvantaged members of the community. The BikeLNK Free and Reduced Cost Pass Program offers 75 free one-day passes and 75 year-long passes for $5.

The program is in partnership with ROAM Share, the local nonprofit organization that operates BikeLNK. Each pass recipient must have a debit/credit card, phone number and smartphone to use the Bcycle mobile application.

Passes are available at the following locations:

• El Centro De Las Americas, 210 “O” St.
• Christ United Methodist Church, 4530 “A” St. (via the Malone Center)
• “F” Street Community Center, 1225 “F” St.
• Asian Community and Cultural Center, 144 N. 44th St.
• Catholic Social Services, 2241 “O” St.
• StarTran, 710 “J” St.
• RISE Academy, 745 S. Ninth St.

This year’s program, “ChainLiNKs: Building Bonds, Sharing Bikes,” is funded by the Cooper Foundation. The program is designed to provide reliable, accessible, year-round transportation to those in Lincoln who experience transportation instability, according to Hunter Arias, BikeLNK City Manager. The distributors are local organizations that work closely with those individuals.
