58th and Wilshire Storm Drain Improvement Project

Project Information

August 14, 2014

This project involves the replacement of deficient pipes with larger diameter pipes capable of conveying the runoff for a 10-year recurrence rain event. Construction will include new storm drainage inlets in the intersection of 58th and Wilshire and a larger diameter storm sewer pipe from the intersection of 58th and Wilshire to the drainage channel on the north side of the Mopac Trail. These improvements are recommended to address possible structural flooding at the low area around 58th & Wilshire Streets.

Work is scheduled to begin August 18, 2014, and the streets are scheduled to open October 3, 2014. The intersection at 58th and Wilshire will be closed to all vehicles during construction. Access to driveways will be maintained, but there may be closures for short durations for delivery of materials and construction equipment. HR Bookstrom Construction of Lincoln, Nebraska has been awarded the contract for completion of this work.

We request the patience and cooperation of residents and drivers in this area as the contractor progresses with this work. The Public Works and Utilities Department will administer this contract and E&A Consulting Group will provide the construction management and inspection of the project.
