Asphalt Rejuvenation

Just like your vehicle, one of the best ways to keep a new street in good condition is to make small investments in regular upkeep and preventive maintenance. This proactive approach to maintenance is designed to prevent and delay damage to good pavement. This means smaller, less costly maintenance projects on a more regular basis.

What will these products do?

Each product looks different after application but the concept is the same. The street is treated with a sealant. By sealing the existing cracks and applying the sealant to the entire street, we are able to stabilize and preserve the oil in the asphalt surface which will help preserve the flexibility of the pavement and extend the life of the street.

What is the process?

Each product has a slightly different process but there are a few key things that are the same.

  • The street will be cleaned to remove any debris that may prevent the material from adhering.
  • Generally, residents and business will receive notification two days prior to work beginning.
  • “No parking” signs will be posted about one day in advance.
  • Portions of the street will close and the sealant will be applied.
  • Once the street has dried, it will reopen. Each product is different but the time will typically range from 2 – 6 hours.

What do I need to do to prepare?

  • Please turn off sprinklers the day before and day of street treatment. Dry pavement helps the product perform better.
  • It is critical that you do not park on the street the day work is scheduled.
  • Please do not drive on the wet material. It will track onto your driveway and/or splatter on your vehicle.
  • Keep children and pets away from the street while work is occurring and street has dried.
  • Rain days and/or equipment problems may delay the work until crews are able to return.
  • We recommend rescheduling any contractors, landscapers, or deliveries on these days.
