The public is invited to attend an open house on the N. 27th Street Viaduct project from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 6 at the Salvation Army, 1645 N. 27th St. The viaduct carries vehicular and pedestrian traffic over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and the Omaha, Lincoln and Beatrice Railroad from Center Street to Theresa Street.
The project includes replacement of the barrier railings on both sides of N. 27th; replacement of the bridge deck expansion joints; rehabilitation work on the substructure; and replacement of the concrete pavement approach sections. Construction is expected to begin by spring 2013. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained on N. 27th during the project.
The design team will be available to provide information on the improvements and to answer questions. For more information about the project, contact Devin Biesecker, City of Lincoln, at 402-441-7711.
