The public is invited to an open house Thursday, June 21 on the improvement project planned for the intersections of 14th Street, Warlick Boulevard and Old Cheney Road. The meeting is from 5 to 7 p.m. at Christ's Place Church, 1111 Old Cheney Road.
Th meeting kicks off the design competition phase for the project. The City wants public feedback to help traffic design engineers understand drivers' experiences in the area and to generate ideas to improve traffic flow and safety. No formal presentations are planned, but representatives of the City Public Works and Utilities Department will be available to discuss the project. The City will provide information about the need for improvements, the design competition, the schedule and the public involvement process.
In the fall, firms in the design competition will present conceptual design ideas.
The final design process will occur next year, and construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2014.
