Public Invited to "Put the Beds to Bed" at Sunken Gardens

Lincoln Parks and Recreation will host the 11th annual "Put the Beds to Bed" event from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, November 3 at the Sunken Gardens, 26th and "D" streets. The event was established to involve citizens in the joy of gardening at Sunken Gardens. In the past, gardening groups, neighbors, Master Gardeners, 4-H groups and friends of Sunken Gardens have helped with the annual "Wake Up the Gardens" and "Put the Beds to Bed" events.

Because the work will involve preparation of the planting beds for winter, participants should dress appropriately in work clothes, heavy-soled shoes and gloves. Participants also are asked to bring a shovel or spade and a willingness to get dirty!
