Improvements to 66th Street from "X" to Fairfax streets are scheduled to begin Monday, August 8. The project will include replacing curbs and gutters and a mill and overlay with asphalt. Other work will include replacing damaged storm drainage inlet tops, pedestrian curb ramps, utility adjustments, and restoration of traffic signal elements impacted by the work.
Traffic will be maintained along 66th Street north of Starr Street. The intersection of 66th and Holdrege will be closed for a few hours during both the milling and overlay operations. 66th Street south of Starr will be closed to through traffic during construction; however, local access will be maintained where possible. Driveway closures will not exceed 10 days. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Construction is expected to be completed by November 2016.
The entire project team appreciates the support and understanding of the public during the project.
