There is a suggested contribution of $4 per class for ages 60 and over and a $5 fee for those under age 60. Participants may attend as many classes as they want, and are encouraged to attend as many as possible.
The "Living Well-Take Control of Your Health" program was developed at Stanford University more than 20 years ago to help participants improve self-management of their health.
Participants will learn how to manage their medications, deal with difficult emotions, eat well, control pain, set and accomplish goals, fight fatigue and frustration, manage stress, relax and communicate better with family, friends and health professionals.
Feedback has shown that participant in the program experienced greater energy, improved social interactions, less time in the hospital and more confidence in their ability to care of their health.
