Improvements Start Monday at Rickman's Run

Beginning Monday, July 30, portions of the Rickman's Run Dog Run will be closed for improvements. The Dog Run is in Holmes Lake Park on the east side of South 70th Street. The work is expected to be completed in three to four weeks. The project includes installation of concrete paths, benches, two shade structures, a new portable toilet shelter, dog run entrance gates and minor parking lot expansion.

During construction, large and small dogs will use a single area. The large dog area will be closed first. Once the large dog area is completed, the small dog area will be closed. Rickman's Run includes a 22.25-acre space for large dogs and a 1.45-acre area for small dogs.

The improvements are possible because of successful fundraising efforts completed after construction of the City's other three dog runs last year. They are:
