Public Hearing on Cable TV and Internet Service Set for September

The Telecommunications/Cable Television Advisory Board will hold a public hearing to help evaluate the quality of services provided by the City's three cable television franchisees from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 4 in the City Council Chambers, 555 South 10th Street. The hearing is part of the Board's periodic performance evaluation of Charter/Spectrum, Windstream and Allo.

Residents are encouraged to tell the Board about their positive and negative experiences with providers. Those who wish to speak at the hearing are required to sign in, and public testimony will be limited to five minutes (not including Board questions). The sign-in begins at 5 p.m., and the hearing will be extended past 7:30 p.m. if necessary to accommodate all testimony. The hearing will be aired live on LNKTV (Charter channel 1300, Windstream channel 1005 and Allo channel 2) and streamed live at and on YouTube and Facebook.

In addition to the public hearing, residents may comment in the following ways:

Members of the Telecommunications/Cable Television Advisory Board are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. The board advises the Mayor and City Council on general telecommunication policy issues, including those related to cable television.
