Lincoln City Libraries invites the public to a free presentation by Stephanie Grace Whitson, author of "Nebraska's Sod House Homemakers and Their Quilts." The event will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 20 in the fourth floor auditorium of the Bennett Martin Public Library, 136 South 14th Street.
The presentation is based on Whitson's research documenting quilts used in sod houses. She will use quilts, enhanced archival photographs and the quilters' own accounts to give participants a look inside their homes to better understand their lives and legacy. The event includes a display of reproduction quilts made for the book. Tours of the Heritage Room of Nebraska Authors will be offered following the program.
