Beginning March 21, Lincoln City Libraries will offer free storytimes for children with special needs on the third Thursday of each month, from 6 to 7 p.m., at Bennett Martin Public Library, 136 S. 14th Street. These sessions are for children and their families who may require a more controlled environment, and are best suited for children 2 to 8 years of age. Preregistration is not required.
In addition to books, singing, and flannel boards, these sessions will incorporate sensory activities beyond sight and sound. The library welcomes children of all abilities, as it seeks to create an inclusive environment. This program is conducted away from distractions and offers an adjoining room in case participants need a quiet space.
