Aging Partners invites caregiving professionals, senior citizens and the public to a presentation about supporting individuals living with dementia, Wednesday, April 10, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event is presented by Southeast Community College at the Jack J. Huck Continuing Education Center, 301 S. 68th St. Place.
"Practical Approaches to Dementia Care" can help older adults, their families and caregivers learn about dealing with the challenging disease, especially in its early stages. The event will feature a presentation followed by a panel discussion.
The presentation will be conducted by Lakelyn Hogan, MA, MBA, a gerontologist and caregiver advocate for Home Instead Senior Care who works to educate professionals, families and communities on issues older adults face. Hogan has a special passion for helping families navigate the challenges of dementia caring and connecting them to valuable resources.
