Lincoln City Libraries invites the public to two free theatrical performances Friday, April 19. The performances are free and no reservations are necessary:
The Wizard of Oz - 10:30 a.m., Anderson Branch Library, 3635 Touzalin Avenue
Join Dorothy in this classic adaption of L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. With her companions the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion, Dorothy embarks on a strange and enchanting adventure to find her way back home.
Treasure Island - 2:30 p.m., Gere Branch Library, 2400 S. 56th Street
Robert Louis Stevenson's novel Treasure Island is a fantastical tale of pirates, adventure, and buried treasure. Meet Long John Silver and his band of marauding pirates, and take an exciting journey across the seven seas.
The shows are presented by the Hampstead Stage Company, a nonprofit national educational touring theatre. Every year, it produces four theatrical tours, in which it performs one-hour original adaptations of literary classics with professional actors, each playing multiple roles.
