The Parks and Recreation Department canoeing event at Holmes Lake scheduled for this evening has been cancelled due to high water levels.
Holmes Lake canoeing events are planned from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 26, July 31 and August 28. Canoes, paddles and lifejackets are provided for all participants. Attendees must check in with staff when they arrive, and at least one adult (at least age 18) must be in each canoe.
The event is a part of the department's Play in the Parks free programming, started in 2016 to provide free community events focused on wellness throughout Lincoln. It's sister program, Party in the Parks, started in 2013.
