Portion of Billy Wolff Trail to Close Today

Beginning today, Thursday, May 30, the portion of the Billy Wolff Trail from Glynoaks Drive to just south of Old Cheney Road trail will be closed through fall for Antelope Creek drainage work. Trail users are advised to use streets or sidewalks along Betty Lou Blvd., Wendell Way, 84th Street and Old Cheney to reconnect to the trail south of the Old Cheney underpass.

The project will increase stream stability, relocate a small section of trail further from the stream, and replace damaged pavement south of Glynoaks Drive. When complete, water will flow more quickly through the underpasses, carrying sediment and debris further downstream so that it doesn't settle on the trail surface and leave mud behind.

For more information about the project, contact Ben Higgins, Watershed Management (402-441-7589,, and Sara Hartzell, Park Planner (402-441-8261,
