Movies in the Parks Start Friday

The public is invited to free movies in the parks beginning Friday, June 14. The newest addition to the Party in the Parks program will feature seven movies in Lincoln parks through August 9. All movies are rated PG and will start at 8 p.m. or once it is dark enough. In case of bad weather, the movies will be shown in adjacent recreation centers.

Movie titles are available at parks.lincoln.ne.gov. Outside food is allowed, but food, snacks and drinks will also be available from vendors at each event. Attendees are advised to bring their own chairs and blankets. The schedule is as follows:

The Party in the Parks events began in 2013 to provide free community arts events in Union Plaza. In 2014, the Union Plaza Events became Party on the Plaza, and the Party in the Parks initiative expanded to include other free performing and visual arts events in Lincoln's parks throughout the summer months.
