Digital Literacy Workshops for Seniors Begin September 23

Aging Partners today announced a series of free one-on-one digital assistance workshops for seniors beginning this fall. The 90-minute sessions will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. September 23, October 15 and November 12, at Victory Park, 600 S. 70th St. The workshops will aid seniors in using their own technology such as smartphones, iPads and laptops.

Food Truck Zone Wild Wednesday set for September 17

The City of Lincoln invites community members to the Wild Wednesday food truck zone event Wednesday, September 17. The event will be from 11 a.m. until vendors sell out at Seventh and “K” streets under Rosa Parks Way. The Wild Wednesday food truck series takes place at the food truck zone every other Wednesday through October 15.

City Launches Pilot Text Messaging Service to Share Project Updates

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today launched TextLNK, a free text messaging service for Lincoln residents, hosted by TextMyGov. TextLNK provides updates and information regarding street and utility infrastructure projects. LTU will use TextLNK to share project-specific notifications, including construction schedules, detours, and progress updates.

Water Main Repair Closes Portion of South 48th Street

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today announced the northbound lanes on South 48th Street between Normal Boulevard and South Antelope Creek Road are closed to traffic for water main repairs. Water crews expect water will be restored to residents in the area in the late evening to overnight hours.

LLCHD Reports Human Case of West Nile Virus in Lancaster County

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) today reported the first human case of West Nile virus (WNV) in Lancaster County so far this season. Mosquitoes have also tested positive for the virus locally. LLCHD urges residents to continue to take precautions against WNV.
