Beginning at 6 a.m. Monday, May 18, South 48th Street between South and Randolph streets will be closed daily from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for tree removal. This area will be closed in sections starting from the south end at South Street moving north to Randolph Street. StarTran Route 53 - South Pointe will be temporarily detoured. This work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, May 22.
Digital signs will alert travelers to upcoming work and closures. Access to homes will be maintained whenever possible. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. Travelers should seek alternate routes.
Drivers are reminded to exercise caution around work zones. Lincoln Transportation and Utilities appreciate the public's patience during this project.
