Pioneers Park Nature Center offers nature day camp experiences for ages 3-17. Placement in camp will not be secured until registration and waiver forms along with enrollment fees are submitted. Registration opens the last full week of January.

Wilderness Nature Camp Update

December 2017

On October 31, 2017 the Wilderness Nature Camp building was destroyed in a fire. The Friends of Pioneers Park Nature Center are asking for the public’s help to rebuild this camp. For over 40 years Wilderness Camp has provided a rich outdoor camp experience in Lincoln and Pioneers Park Nature Center is committed to continuing this tradition. Summer Nature Camps

Summer Camp Registration Begins: January 22nd

Nature Explorers Spring Camp

Monday, March 12 – Friday, March 16, 2018
Time: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm    |    Extended hours 7:30 am-5:30 pm
Ages: 6-13 years old    
Fee: $185/child
Location: Pioneers Park Nature Center

Spend the week with us at the Nature Center during Lincoln Public School’s spring break. Learn about ecology, wildlife, and more during this fun filled week of day camp. We’ll be outdoors everyday hiking, exploring, playing games, making crafts, and so much more. Dress for the weather, bring a sack lunch and be ready to have some fun. All registration and waiver forms must be completed submitted by March 2, 2018. Sign up online and send in the Nature Camp Waiver.

Leadership Camp

Dates: Monday, June 4 – Friday, June 8, 2018
Time: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm   |   Extended hours 7:30 am-5:30 pm
Ages: 14-17 years old
Fee: $150/week
Location:Pioneers Park (Location TBD)

Learn outdoor and leadership skills while making new friends at Wilderness Nature Camp’s Leadership Camp. This camp is designed for young adults looking to build skill and learn new talents, from team building to survival skills. Following Leadership Camp, attendees can assist at Wilderness Nature Camp over the summer as Junior Counselors. There is a special application process for this program, please contact the Nature Center for more information. All registration forms, waivers, and payment must be received by May 18, 2018. Registration is not considered complete until all waivers and forms are returned.

Wilderness Nature Day Camp

Days: Monday-Friday, June 11 – Aug 3, 2018 *There will not be camp the week of July 2-5.

Ages: 6-13 years old
Fee: $185/week

Spend the summer immersed in nature, hiking, exploring, and going on adventures with your friends. Sounds like fun? Come to Wilderness Nature Camp at Wilderness Park. This day camp experience is like no other camp around. Each week includes a field trip to a different location, time to explore the creek and build forts, and of course games such as capture the flag. Themes and activities change each week. A camp t-shirt is included with registration. All registration forms, waivers, and payment must be received the Monday prior to camp starting. Registration is not considered complete until all waivers and forms are returned.

Camp Discovery

Days: Monday – Thursday, June 4 – July 19, 2018

Time: 9-11:30 am
Ages: 3-6 years old
Fee: $90/week
Location: Pioneers Park Nature Center,
Prairie Building Preschool Classroom

This half day camp is designed for young explorers. Camp activities will be planned around each week’s nature-based theme. From crafts to hikes your child will have a wonderful experience learning about the world around them. Registration forms, waivers, and payment must be received the Monday prior to camp starting.

Fall Fun Days

Days: Friday, October 12, 2018
Time: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm  |  Extended hours are available: 7:45 am – 5:30 pm.
Fee: $40/day
Location: Prairie Building
Children in elementary school (K-5th grade) can spend a day with friends at the Nature Center. Games, crafts, hayrack rides, s’mores, hiking, and more will fill your day out of school. Bring a sack lunch and be prepared for an outdoor fall adventure. All registration and waiver forms must be completed submitted by Oct. 5.
