Three Robberies, Two Arrests
The Lincoln Police Department responded to three convenience store robberies on September 15, 2009, with the same suspect description. The suspect was described as a black man, 5'8"-5-10", 180 pounds with his hair pulled back into a pony tail. In each robbery, he had been wearing a red t-shirt and jeans with a multi-colored design on the rear pockets. The suspect always implied that he had a weapon, but one was never displayed. Fortunately, the clerks were not physically injured.
The first incident occurred at 1:40am at Roc's Stop & Shop, 2700 South Street. The suspect entered the store alone and demanded money. He left with cash and Newport cigarettes. The next robbery occurred at 10:13am at Roc's Stop & Shop, 1449 N 56th Street. The clerk did not comply with the suspect's demands and chased him from the store - no monetary loss. Just 14 minutes later, at 10:27am, a robbery was reported at Kwik Shop, 3939 A Street. Again, the male demanded money from the register. He was last seen leaving southbound with cash from the business. Shortly after this robbery, a silver 4-door Volvo was seen leaving the area.
While checking the security of convenience stores in his area, Officer Robert Brenner spotted a silver Volvo parked at Git 'N Split, 345 West O Street. At 10:55am, Carnell Jimmerson (30), seated in the driver's seat, was contacted. Both his physical description and clothing description were consistent with what was described by the victims. He was promptly taken into custody. Officer Michael Muff then checked the business for possible accomplices. Tiuana Johnson (35) was located and arrested. Both men have been cited and lodged. Carnell Jimmerson was lodged on three counts of Robbery. Tiuana Johnson was lodged for two counts of Accessory to a Felony.
