Arrest Warrant Detail Clears Sixty-Six Warrants
On August 11, 2011, members of Lincoln Police Department's Southwest Team, Southeast Team, Northwest Team, SWAT Team, Canine Unit, and Education & Personnel Unit conducted a large scale arrest warrant detail. Twenty-nine officers saturated the city in two-person teams, contacting as many offenders as possible. The organized effort was to help reduce the high volume of arrest warrants in Lincoln. The detail proved successful with 285 warrants attempted and sixty-six warrants served. The individuals arrested were wanted for misdemeanor and felony offenses.
Meanwhile, seven officers also participated in a "saturation detail". They patrolled specific areas of Southwest Lincoln, taking an assertive approach to any offenses observed. These officers issued thirty-four official traffic citations and thirty-four warning citations. Five individuals were arrested for driving under suspension. In addition, five narcotic citations were written and ten misdemeanor citations were issued for offenses including False Information, Urinating in Public, Trespassing and Disturbing the Peace.
