Pedestrian Crossing Enforcement Results
On May 22, 2015, the Lincoln Police Department completed its Pedestrian Crossing Traffic Enforcement Project. The project was conducted over a two week period at two different pedestrian crossing locations. The week of May 11th - May 15th, officers monitored the crosswalk located at South 27th and 'F' Streets. The week of May 18th to May 22nd, officers monitored the crosswalks located at South 48th and Stockwell and South 48th and Cooper.
The project, funded through a grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety, resulted in the following violations:
|Pedestrian Improperly Crossing the Roadway:||28 written warnings and 2 verbal warnings|
|Fail to Yield Right of Way to a Pedestrian:||3 written warnings|
|Traffic Violations:||6 speeding citations and 4 miscellaneous traffic warnings|
