Lincoln Police Partner with Other Agencies to Conduct Arrest Warrant Detail
On Thursday, June 11, 2015, members of Lincoln Police Department, University of Nebraska Police Department and Nebraska State Patrol partnered for a city-wide arrest warrant detail. Officers saturated the city in two-person teams, contacting as many offenders as possible. The organized effort was to help reduce the high volume of arrest warrants in Lincoln. The detail proved successful with 467 warrants attempted and 100 warrants served. The individuals arrested were wanted for misdemeanor and felony offenses.
Meanwhile, several officers also participated in a "saturation detail". They patrolled high-density areas of Lincoln, taking an assertive approach to any offenses observed. These officers issued 163 official traffic citations and 215 warning citations. In addition, 5 individuals were arrested for misdemeanor offenses and 11 narcotics citations were written.
Strong relationships between area law enforcement make these collaborative events possible. By working together, we are able to make a greater impact and work toward shared goals.
