Pavement Preservation Project

The 2018 citywide pavement preservation project includes work on several major streets in the city. At each location, street improvements will include sealing the existing asphalt and applying new pavement markings.

Coddington and West Van Dorn

Safety Improvement Project

The purpose of this project is to reduce vehicle crashes by significantly reducing the number of conflict points at the intersection. A single-lane roundabout will be constructed within the intersection. The project includes the phased construction of new concrete pavement, trails, sidewalks and box culvert extensions; the installation of a new storm drainage system; and new signage, pavement markings and street lighting.

Mill and Overlay / Pedestrian Improvements

The project’s street improvements will include the mill and overlay of existing asphalt and restriping of lanes and parking stalls. The project will also include improvements to pedestrian nodes from 7th to 9th and “N” to “S” Streets in the Historic Haymarket. Pedestrian curb ramps will be reconstructed to meet Federal and local standards.

Widening and Safety Improvement Project

Pine Lake Road is being widened to four lanes from S 61st Street to Highway 2. This project is necessary to increase the capacity of this roadway as a part of the increasing development in southeast Lincoln.

Pavement Preservation Project

This is a pavement preservation project intended to extend the life of the asphalt street. This summer, we will be treating recently-resurfaced residential streets with sealant to help prevent weather damage.

Saunders Avenue Pavement District

Saunders Avenue from 12th to 14th Street

The Saunders Avenue Pavement District, comprised of property owners on Saunders Avenue, has requested that the City of Lincoln manage its street improvement project. Under the project, Saunders Avenue, from N. 12th to N. 14th Streets, will become a new, 35-foot-wide concrete street that meets City safety and quality standards.
